The city of Monterey was founded in 1770 and first incorporated in 1850. It is a stunningly beautiful coastal city with all sorts of activities and events for just about everyone. Designated as the Language Capital of the World, the city boasts a wonderfully diverse culture.
Visitors and residents enjoy the Farmers’ Market, whale watching, kayaking, shopping and so much more.
You can explore the city in many ways, but one of my favorite ways is by bike. The Monterey Bay Coastal Recreation Trail is the perfect way to see the sites and is set up so that everyone, from the experienced cyclist to the novice can find an enjoyable place to ride.
The Old Downtown and Cannery Row has shops and restaurants, and the beach is just beautiful. Check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium while you’re there. One good resource is the Old Monterey Business Association website.
Imagine living amidst all this beauty and history. It’s a great place to visit and an even better place to live!
